Мне уже писал Тема с этой просьбой... Дело тут
в том, что afair, все что я писал на scr/s было
с моего Mac-а, который я сдал, предварительно все
стерев с жесткого диска, когда переходил на 
новую работу в 3М :((.  я пороюсь на следующей
неделе, общзательно, но боюсь,  что мало чего 
найду...

История с rec.pets.cats - это Смирнов at his best.
Кто-то оттуда x-постанул в scr/s то ли в '95, то ли
раньше, то ли позже - не помню. Это было через пару
месяцев afair после Володиного возвращения из Москвы.
Я тогда баловался на нете существенно больше чем 
сейчас и те 10 постов в день про кошек меня достали...

Тема была идиотской - "can a cat kill/eat a squirrel?"
Я постанул в rpc (без х-поста в scr) что у меня на
глазах белка сожрала соседскую кошку.  Детально
описал как белка надувалась, потом как кошка, и т.д..
В общем, я подвел итог там так: "if the cat was not 
defanged and declawed, then it might have had a fighting
chance..."

Tons of follow-up, about how i should've saved the cat,
how the cat should've never been declawed, etc.. Hook, 
line and sinker - good troll.  Till Smirnov came.  I have
no idea to this day how he found the thread, he must've been
as entertained by rpc folks as i was - but there he was 
adding gas to the fire and fanning it.

He wrote that "you americans always love to deconstruct 
your animals to suit your own needs.  why get an animal if
it's not what you need or want? but no, you get a cat and
then start mutilating it.  chances are, the cat was not 
only declawed and defanged, but also de-voice boxed and
blinded too. and worst of all, it was probably castrated!"

Well, with the pets folks, this is like the abortion issue
with the politicians. there was no middle ground. people 
bagan bashing each other, taking sides, the poor mythical
cat was forgotten.  Smirnov sat back, posting a detail or
two to elaborate on the glorious pet life that his pets
always had and enjoyed the show.  this lasted about a month.
it was a blast. that was the first time he and i really 
emailed each other. 

i may have the archives. may be. but again, prob. not.
i will look.
